Event Day

Upper Rapids Blvd at Portage Road, Niagara Falls, Ontario, across from Marineland
 
Plan to arrive by 6:00 am. The music and fun begin at our Start/Finish area. Relax, stretch, meet other fantastic women, and be EMPOWERED. Use the toilets early! Avoid the line-ups
 
Meet women from 10 provinces, 29 states and 6 countries.
 
As Catherine Porter wrote on the front page of the Toronto Star, a veritable lovefest.
 
Parking:
Over 1400 parking spots within 400 metres of our Start/Finish area. $10.00 per car.

THE START!

Music, Drum Line, Biker Sisters and adrenaline. Kathrine Switzer leads the cheering as everyone crosses the Start Line.
 
The Course:
The course is flat (well, almost) and the roar and mist from The Falls will inspire you. Ou t and ba ck. BIG NAMES on bibs. Cheer for each other. Guaranteed to be the most fun you have ever had exercising and achieving a goal. Hoopla? Music of different types will keep you entertained as you run or walk this magnificent 21.1km course. Lots of surprises at this event.
 
The Finish:
A unique finishers medal, presented to every finisher just after the Finish Line, by a firefighter. Wet wash cloths, water, Powerade, fruit and cookies. And the fun continues. Music, chatter, awards presentations and more Kathrine.
 
The Niagara Falls Womens Half Marathon will be capped at 3,000 entrants.

Why a Women's Event?

Healthy and active lifestyles are a way of life for many women, but only a dream for too many others. Women have many demands on their time, so including a regular exercise schedule demands exceptional discipline and commitment.
 
Reward yourself with the Niagara Falls Womens Half Marathon. Set a goal, find a group to train with, and make Sunday, June 3, 2018 the date you will achieve greatness. Running or walking a Half Marathon is an incredible accomplishment. Do it!
 
Share the morning with other women from diverse backgrounds, active women of all ages and shapes, all proudly achieving t heir fit ness goals. The sense of empowerment will be amazing, and you will glow.
 
This event will be so much more than others. Run or walk past The Falls TWICE!, through the Niagara Parks, past the churning rapids, and out and back along the mighty Niagara River. This will be the wateriest course in Canada. What a way to experience this wonder of the world.
 
All of our swag, clothing and prizing has been selected specifically for women.

Kathrine Switzer Will Be With Us Again!

In 1967, she was the first women to officially enter and run the Boston Marathon. They tried to physically remove her from the race! Largely because of her efforts and leadership, by 1984 the Women's Marathon was included in the Olympic Games. What an amazing journey she is living.
 
And now, some 58% of the runners and walkers in Half Marathons are women. It's unbelievable!
 
In 2011, when she was inducted into the U.S.A. National Women's Hall of Fame, it was not just for breaking barriers but also for creating positive global social change. Because of her, millions of women are now empowered by participating in sports. Or, as Kathrine says, "it's not about running and walking. It's about changing peoples lives." Kathrine loves our event, with the course going past The Falls TWICE! And then along the mighty Niagara River. "It's one of the world's beautiful courses, and also a great course for PB's."
 
The whole weekend is a true celebration of fitness and healthy lifestyles. So many unique touches make this Women's Half Marathon a lifelong memory.
