Heartland Forest is a remarkable, fully accessible 93 acre facility and forest in Niagara Falls. It is a joy to see people of all ages and abilities enjoying the 2.6 km of accessible trails in the forest, and other activities. Even the treehouse is wheelchair and scooter accessible. The staff and volunteers at Heartland Forest are doing amazing things for so many people. Please donate.
People with diabetes face many issues that have serious and long-term effects on their physical, emotional and financial quality of life.
The Canadian Diabetes Association works to lead the fight against diabetes by helping people with diabetes live healthy lives while we work to find a cure. It encourages a healthy lifestyle as the best method of prevention, and represents the interest of those with diabetes to government, business, and the public.
An effective diabetes health-care plan requires a multi-faceted approach that attacks barriers of cost, access and education/information with equal force. The following position statement offers a starting point for effective action.
